Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Text Tools Online collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information. We have written it in plain language because we believe you deserve to understand it without a law degree.
The Short Version
The text you type or paste into any of our tools never leaves your browser. We do not see it, store it, or transmit it. All word counting, case conversion, diff comparison, JSON formatting, and other processing happens locally in your browser tab using JavaScript. When you close the tab, the data is gone.
What We Do Not Collect
- The content of any text you enter into our tools
- Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information (unless you voluntarily contact us)
- Passwords, API keys, or any credentials you might process through our tools
- Financial information of any kind
What We Do Collect
We collect standard, anonymized web analytics data to understand how our site is used and to improve our tools. This includes:
- Pages visited and approximate time spent on each page
- Browser type and version (e.g., Chrome 124, Firefox 126)
- Operating system (e.g., Windows 11, macOS 14)
- Country-level geographic region (not city or street level)
- Referral source — how you arrived at our site (e.g., a search engine or a direct link)
This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you as an individual. We do not build personal profiles and do not sell this data to any third party.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to function correctly. When advertisements are enabled, Google and its advertising partners may also use cookies or similar technologies to deliver, measure, and personalize ads in accordance with their own policies.
Google AdSense and Advertising
This site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. As part of this service, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixel tags and device identifiers) to serve advertisements based on your prior visits to this site and to other websites across the internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google's Ad Settings or by visiting aboutads.info. You may also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits.
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick DART cookie where applicable, enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can learn more about how Google uses advertising cookies and opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Advertising Policies. Google's broader Privacy Policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Your Rights (GDPR and CCPA)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing.
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request deletion of your personal information.
Because we collect only anonymized, aggregated analytics data and do not collect personally identifiable information, we are generally unable to identify or retrieve individual records. If you have a specific privacy request, please contact us at [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Data Retention
We do not retain any text content you process with our tools — this data never reaches our servers. Anonymized analytics data is retained for up to 26 months in aggregated form, after which it is deleted.
Third-Party Links
Our site may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
